While attempting to aggregate usage statistics from e-resources vendors, the Georgetown University Electronic Resources team discovered that many vendor-provided files were did not fully conform to the COUNTER Compliance standard.

An extension was added to the File Analyzer to detect (and fix where possible) non-conforming usage statistics files.

A solution was implemented for 4 COUNTER report types.

If an error is fixable, the report will indicate that the fix was applied. The fix will be applied to a copy of the input file.

The code currently supports of handful of report types. Rules can easily be created to extend the functionality to other counter report types. Please notify the repository owner if you are interested in extending this functionality.

The generated report has lots of information. The filters are handy for looking at specific information. screen-shot

Working with a single file: When working with a single file, a report will be generated for every cell that is analyzed (valid or invalid). screen-shot
