FAQ - GeoDF/Freepad GitHub Wiki
What virtual pads are ?
Virtual pads are virtual devices controlled by your keyboard keys and your mouse. A virtual pad send midi messages to your synthesizers as a real device do.
Can I use a real LPD8 device and a virtual pad simultaneously ?
Yes. You can use your keyboard keys as pads, your mouse wheel as knobs, and your real device pads, together.
Why Freepad display messages like "Cannot retrieve pad from note 69" ?
The computer is not advised when you change the active program on your LPD8 with its "Program" button. Then, Freepad cannot guess anymore which pad or knob send which note or control change message. In the same way, when you change the note associated to a pad in Freepad, you loose the synchronization with the LPD8 until you press "Send" or "Send to RAM". And if you set the same note for two or more pads or the same control change to two or more knobs, Freepad cannot guess which pad or knob is used. In such cases, a warning message is briefly displayed. Sending a program to the LPD8, getting one, or loading a program from your computer restore the synchronization.
is the LPD8 MK2 supported ?
Not yet. But it will be:
