Checking your mesh with Paraview - GeoChemFoam/GeoChemFoam GitHub Wiki

This tutorial will use the results of running the initCase.sh script in GeoChemFoam Tutorial 01.

  1. Download, install, and open Paraview.

  2. Run the tutorial 1 initCase.sh script and copy the results into a local directory by following steps 1-3 in Tutorial 1.

  3. Load the results into Paraview by dragging the Paraview_loader.foam file from your results directory into Paraview.

  1. Uncheck 'Skip Zero Time', then press 'Apply' and 'Refresh'.
  1. Select 'decomposed case' if your case has not been reconstructed (in the tutorials the cases have not been reconstructed).
  1. Select 'Surface with Edges' from the drop down menu.
  1. Search for and uncheck 'Decompose Polyhedra' and press 'Apply'.

You should now see something like this:

  1. Check that it looks like what you would expect, that it has an inlet and outlet.
  1. Check that it hasn't cut off bits of the pore-space that were too small to mesh. You can zoom in to examine the individual mesh components:
