With the implementation of BRPIDs (as of version 12.1.30) you no longer need to import items etc from compendia, and if you do you don't need to retain the document IDs. BRPIDs effectively replace Document IDs.

If you haven't moved to version 12.1.30 (or later) then it is essential when setting up BRP that you import all Compendia, retaining Document IDs. This is important as they are used to link items. For example, the Skills in Professions are stored using the document ID of the Skill, or when creating weapons (which then use skill types from in the game world)

If you do not import the compendia then you will get errors when you try to drag and drop some items from them to the character sheet (e.g. if you haven't imported skills from the compendium then you will get errors when you try to drop a weapon on the character sheet).

You will need to go through each compendium.
