Characteristic Roll - Genii-Locorum/brp GitHub Wiki
There are a couple of different characteristic rolls and two different ways to start them
Click on the characteristic score (e.g. 13)
- If you click on the characteristic score then you will trigger a characteristic roll, with a dialogue box asking for difficulty (defaults to average) and any flat modifier.
- If you SHIFT + click the characteristic score you will get a normal roll but the difficulty is set to average and no modifiers are applied.
- If you CTRL + click you trigger a resistance roll and you will get a dialogue box asking for an additional characteristic (optional), the opposing value and any flat modifier. Whilst a resistance roll is normally triggered from the active participant either party can do it, but the result is from your perspective.
- If you ALT + click the characteristic score then you trigger a POW v POW roll irrespective of which characteristic you clicked
Right click on the characteristic name (e.g. STR)
This will bring up the context menu and gives you options for the three roll types (POW v POW is only available from the POW stat).
Resistance and POW v POW rolls Please note there are some game settings options for the GM that control
- A minimum 1% chance of success/failure
- Whether roll results are simple Success/Failure or have critical, special and fumble results.
Difficulty Levels There are two game settings options for the GM
- Manually set the difficulty value multiplier rather than selecting a level
- Allow Impossible difficulty levels which means a 1% only chance of success.
