Skills - Genii-Locorum/aov GitHub Wiki
Skills are a bit more varied and complex than other item types. Skills are not used on Ships or Farms.

Go to the Items Directory

Click on Create item
i. Give the skill a name
ii. Select the type "Skill"

On the 'Details' tab add the following i. Select the skill Category Type
ii. If you selected "the "Combat" Category you now select the Weapon Type and Weapon Category (you will have needed to have created Weapon Categories first)
iii. Select the Base Score Option - a Fixed Score, DEX * 2 or DEX * 3
iv. Choose if this is a common skill - common skills are automatically added to newly created characters
v. Choose if this is a specialised skill. If you do tick the box you can then add a specialisation name
vi. If the skill can't be advanced through experience tick the No XP Allowed box
vii. Enter the base score for the skill if you chose Fixed Score above, or enter 0 for the other options

If the skill is on a character or NPC you can also
i. Enter the amount of experience earned
ii. Enter any bonus to the skill from your Homeland
iii. Add any bonus for personal skill points
iv. You will see the impact of active Effects shown next
v. You will now see the Category Bonus modifier for the skill.
vi. The skill score is shown next. Category Bonus will only be included if the skill score is greater than zero
vii. Lastly you will see an XP check box to indicate if you an Experience Check due

You can enter a description of the skill or add other notes on the "Description" tab

A GM can add additional notes on the "GM Tab" - this is only visible to GMs

Don't forget to add a Chaosium ID
