10/3/21

Project has started. Today I've created this Repository and started to add more details to this project page.

  • Added Readme and Wiki pages.
  • Map theme has been decided on, will be doing an abandoned dock that's underground.
  • Looked around for textures for my map. So far have found one that fits the maps theme.
  • I've decided on the map being a 4 player map, always been a fan of more players for competitive modes.
  • Map being drafted on paper first, than will do digitally.
  • Map has been done in digital. Icons have been placed in the Legend to show off what they are.

10/5/21

  • Overview and Theme page added to repository.
  • 2D Top-down Map page added to repository.

10/8/21

  • Began to create maps first grey box based on 2D map overview.
  • Finished laying out the floors and walls in map.

10/9/21

  • Began to shape geometry in environment.
  • Added water to map.
  • Added the center ship to map.
  • Created stairs for map.

10/10/21

  • Added shipping containers to map. Adjusting their height based on player character.
  • Added cane machine to map. Going to add small room inside of cane for extra cover for player and another area to view center ship.

10/11/21

  • Created smaller boats to place around the water. These will work as ways for the player to get back on the port/dock.
  • Used the centers boat mass as a bridge for players to use as an alternate way to get on and off the ship.
  • Added final wall placement for the 4 sides of the map.
  • Created box/barrel/big box environment items to place around the map. These can be used in multiple ways. Players can jump on them to get to higher spots, can be used as cover, and also as alternate routes.
  • Player Deathmatch spawn was added, just 1 for right now.

10/12/21

  • Box/Barrel/Big Box items placed around the map.
  • Cover created from Boxes. Cover has been placed in areas where it makes sense.
  • Weapons added around the map.
  • Health, Armor, and Ammo added around the map.

10/13/21

  • 8 Deathmatch player spawns have been added around the map.
  • Roof finally added to map.
  • New pages added to wiki. Grey Box and Metrics.
  • Video walk through of grey box version of map added to Grey Box wiki page. Image also added in same location.

10/15/21

  • Trains created around the map to help players get to higher areas.
  • Supply storage building added to bottom left corner of map.
  • Trains added inside of supply storage building.

10/16/21

  • Created new pages on project wiki page.
  • Continued work on map, added details to areas around map.

10/19/21

  • Continued work on map, added more details. Center ship was given new look.

10/22/21

  • Playtests were held on the previous day and going over feedback today.
  • Feedback was used to better the map. Fixing trains that didn't work. Adding more pickups.

10/23/21

  • Continued work on map, adding textures and working on lighting.
  • Texture work is done for all boxes and portside of the map.

10/24/21

  • Continued working on my map, finished the texturing around the whole map today.
  • Began to add some lighting, to test lighting I placed lighting down then started the map in the compiler.

10/26/21

  • Finishing the last of the lighting for the map.
  • Fixed some textures and finished up all lighting.

10/28/21

  • Another playetest was conducted today. 6 player deathmatch. Gave out survey online to get final feedback for map.
  • Playtest 3 page was created to explain today's results.
  • Map Video Walkthrough page created on project wiki.
