Questions such as This question helps the designer to
1. How many average customers the device can serve every day?
2. How many maximum time a device should work in a day?
3. How much the device can cost? Establish client’s objectives
4. Do you have any electrical supply in your shop ?
5. What are the other features expected?
6. How much amount you can spend on the device?
7. What type of size and width device should be made? Identify constraints
8. Do you need the device should made up of fibre or steel?
9. How much weight the device can be able to handle?
10. Do you need any device in your device to identify date bar medicines? Establish functions
11. Do you want device to display cost and generate bill?
Obtain the information through basic survey and customer interaction and arrive at requirements.
Observation and from Lit.Survey Requirements
1.Based on the cost of devices in market. Cost of device should be below 4500 only.
2.Based on working time of other devices. User can operate by sitting in one place.
3.Based on size and shape of other devices. The device should be user friendly.
4.Based on weight of the device. The device should be portable.

Based on the information gathered through interaction with client, initial survey and completing phase 1.1 the problem definition is formulated as follows:

Design a device which helps in bringing the medicine from rack to billing section which is safe ,affordable ,easy to operate and it should be portable.
1.3 Identify constraints
1. Cost of device should not exceed 5000 .
2. The size of device should not exceed more than 30*40 cm sq.
3.Weight of device should not exceed more than 4 kg.
4.The device should work 5 hours continuesly.

Design a device which helps in bringing the medicine from rack to billing section which is safe ,affordable ,easy to operate and it should be portable device cost should not exceed more than 5000.Weight of device should not exceed 4 kg and size should not exceed more than 30*40 sq cm and it should work continues for 10 hrs a day.
1.2 Identify functions.
1.By pressing the start button device starts working.
2.The device pick the medicine and place it on the conveyor belt.
3.The device should be automatic .

Design a device which helps in bringing the medicine from rack to billing section which is safe ,affordable ,easy to operate and it should be portable .The device will start automatically working by pressing the start button and by pressing the start button the device pick the medicine from the rack and place it on the conveyor belt and this process helps in time saving.
