GATHERING PERTINENT INFORMATION

PROJECT :- Automatic Cloth Folding Machine

Need Statement :- Its generally seen during festivals and a special occasion that all the clothing shops are very crowded. The salesmen and the labourers find it difficult to entertain all the customers as oraganising the clothes simultaneously is a tedious task,propose a solution

Objective:-

  • For many people, the worst part of doing laundry is having to fold all the clothes once they come out of the dryer. This activity is not only tedious and time-consuming, but also requires some efforts to fold all the clothes in the same size.
  • As a result, some people just dump their laundry into the draws without organizing them. In order to cope with the problems stated above, a low cost folding machine that could automatically fold the clothes when a piece of laundry is placed on the machine, should be manufactured.
  • This machine should be easy to use and should have little human involvement, which is significantly useful for people who do not have time or are not willing to organize their clothes. The machine should be able to fold the clothe in a neat way.

Literature survey

  • The textile industry in INDIA currently doesn’t use the automation in cloth folding and sorting mechanism based on color of the cloth
  • It is very necessary to bring automation according to the literature survey only 89% of manufacturers uses any kind of automation in INDIA
  • The Indian textile and clothing industry currently accounts for about 16 percent of industrial production and about 4 percent of GDP.
  • It employs close to 82 million people, 35 million and 47 million in the textile and allied sectors respectively.
  • The total employment by 2015 will be close to 99 million people, 42 million and 57 million in the textile and allied sectors respectively

The Existing Solution to the Problem:-

  1. The textile industry hasn’t witnessed the growth in the field of technology aiding the industry the most optimum of the availability of the mechanism in towards world that mainly being altogether automation in the manufacturing sector of the textile industry. Our main aim is bringing Automation in the Cloth Folding Technique used in Textile Manufacturing Industry.
  2. In addition to the automatic folding mechanism of the cloth, we also intend to introduce more automation. This will ensure the full automation in textile industry which it has been lacking.
  3. The system will be designed with the present available materials and components so as to bring simplicity and more importantly cost effectiveness in the system.
  4. The Implementation of the entire assembly can be easily incorporated with the current system being used in the industry without any high volume changes.

Direct solutions

1. Increase the no. of labours: By increasing the number of labourers, we can control the crowd in shops and malls. Also, it can be a direct solution for unemployment.

2. Using barriers: By using the barriers in shops and malls also, we can control the rush and maintain a Queue.

3. Increasing the size of the shops: By increasing the size of the shops and malls also, we can control the rush and provide space for customers come, wait, buy and leave the shop.
