Answers
- Machine should be used indoor.
- Yes we need power backup.
- It should fold shirts and t-shirts.
- We will insert the clothes of size (Small-Large)(46cm chest - 59cm chest).
- We will insert only one cloth at a time.
- The maximum weight of the machine is 5kg.
- The maximum size of the machine is (50cm broad-60cm long).
- The maximum cost of machine is Rs 4000.
- yes it will identify weather the cloth is put in the machine or not.
- yes it will display messages for different purposes.
OBSERVATION FROM LIT. SURVEY | REQUIREMENTS |
---|---|
1. Based on the weight of the machine and ease to carry | The total weight should not exceed 4 kg |
2. Based on the clothes we put in it for folding | The machine should fold only shirts and t-shirts |
3. Based on the cost of competing product in market | The cost of the machine should be maximum Rs-4000 |
4. Based on folding capability of the machine | It should fold 1 cloth at a time |
1. Identification of client’s objectives
-
list of design objectives
SL. NO. | OBJECTIVE |
---|---|
01. | Less energy consumption. |
02. | Machine should able to fold only shirts and t-shirts |
03. | Machine should able to fold the clothes of the size (Small-Large)(46cm - 59 cm) |
04. | It should consume less space and time |
05. | Machine should be used as friendly (easy to carry) |
2. Prioritization of identified design objectives
Priority among various objectives is set through a technique called Pair-wise Comparison Chart (PCC)
OBJECTIVES | ENERGY CONSUMPTION | TYPE OF CLOTH | SIZE OF CLOTH | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Energy consumption | *** | 1 | 1 | 2 |
Presence of cloth in the machine before folding | 0 | *** | 1 | 1 |
Size of the cloth | 0 | 0 | *** | 0 |
Rank of the objective
- Energy consumption
- Presence of cloth in the machine before folding
- size of cloth
Based on the information gathered through interaction with client, initial survey and completing phase 1. The problem definition is formulated as follows
PROBLEM DEFENITION VERSON 1.1 |
---|
Design a machine for folding of only shirts and t-shirts, which should consume less energy. Cost of the machine should not exceed Rs-4000. The weights of the machine should not exceed 4 Kg. It should fold only one shirt/t-shirts at a time. |
3. Identification of constraints
- The size of the machine should not exceed 50cm*60cm.
- The cost of the machine should not exceed Rs4000.
- The weight of the machine should not exceed 3-4 kg.
- It should fold the cloth of the size (small-large).
PROBLEM DEFENITION VERSION 1.2 |
---|
Design a machine for folding of only shirts and t-shirts which should be affordable. Cost of the machine should not exceed Rs 4000. The weight of the machine should not exceed 4Kg. It should fold only one Shirt or T-shirt at a time |
4. Establish functions
- The machine should fold only one cloth at a time.
- It should fold only t shirts and shirts and pants.
PROBLEM DEFINITION VERSION 1.2 |
---|
Design an attractive and efficient automatic cloth folding machine which can be placed indoor to fold only t-shirts/shirts and the size of the t-shirts and shirts should be in between (Small-Large)(46cm chest - 59cm) and it should work with less energy consumption as well. Weight of the machine should not exceed 4 kg and the dimensions of the machine should be 50cm broad and 60cm long. The cost of the machine should not exceed 4000 and It should fold only one cloth at a time . |
