The purpose of this research is to create the most effective software to improve the mix engineers hearing capabilities. Looking at how we hear sound, and how the ear works, as well as what is already available to the mix engineer, will determine what would be the most effective method to create the software. Other variables to be considered are; listening environment, speakers, interfaces and soundcards and personal physical emotions. In the first instance tests will be carried out to assess the current hearing capabilities of multiple participants. The results from these tests will then be used to develop software that will enhance any deficiencies in their hearing. The software will maximise the participants hearing capabilities and subsequently, the mix engineer will be able to create mixes that will be consistent on all different methods of playback listening systems and listening environments.
