  1. Going over the final assignment of the project really has me interested into how most developers have to design new games without copying another game or project too much. While designing the prototype for the board game, I noticed that while all will almost certainty use a board, the way it's used is often varied and can lead to some similarities with other games. While our game has a linear path and moves with use of a die, that same concept has appeared in other games as well so our job seems to be how to make this unique enough to show it's not just a recolor or rebranding of an existing idea.

  2. After waiting through a midnight release, I have to admit that despite the flaws and allegations, Pokemon Sword & Shield are truly a step in a different direction for the series. The traditional formula consisted of going through areas set up that the player would have to travel and advance through the game in order to acquire the more higher up materials(Pokemon) where as in this they have gone for a open world approach which is quite a change of pace. Due to this, a player in the early stages of the game would potentially be able to level their Pokemon to levels far beyond the standard of the game's pace. However just giving people this option is remarkable as it allows players with different play styles to enjoy the game at their own pace.
