Premise

At the beginning of civilization, Elves and Humans travelled from another realm to this world through a massive portal. In the aeons since then, countless human and elvish empires have risen to great heights and fallen to mere dust. Elves have long since faded from collective memory, and only faint whispers of thier presence remain. You have been appointed as the new Elf Lord and your goal is to restore the Elves to their pinnacle.

Their future rests on your shoulders; Will you rise to the occasion, or follow in the footsteps of your forgotten ancestors?

Humble Origins

Your adventure begins with the visit of a self-proclaimed "Archeologist" - whatever that means. She claims to have found ruins belonging to the mythical Elven people, and needs your help to fund an expedition to uncover the secrets buried there.

This unlocks the new Activity type, Expeditions. Your initial visit will be to an ancient site hidden deep within the Swiss Alps, but after that? Who knows how many remnants of Elvish society have lied under our noses this entire time?

During these expeditions you will undergo trials and tribulations; whether that be defeating an ancient marble statue in combat or out witting an eruditic automaton in chess, the treasures that they protect are surely worth the effort.

What Does It Mean To Be An Elf?

Elves are marked by a trait. They are given pointy ears, a longer life, and an ageless appearance.

However, not all elves are made equal, and there are tiers to Elfhood. Elves can evolve their traits through a process known as Ascension. Basic elves are only slightly more powerful than humans, but as you move up towards the tiers, you approach the realm of Godhood.

There are two ways to Ascend;

• Genetic Lottery: If two parents of similar Elf Tier procreate, there is a small chance that their offspring will be of a higher elf tier. This quirk of nature is why Elven cultures are typically extremely obsessed with bloodline purity.
• Ascension Ritual: This is a simple decision that allows the player to evolve their Elf Tier. At the moment, it costs a massive amount of piety, but in the future it will likely be as costly as reforming a faith.
