What you need:

  • Atari Computer (If you have an Atari 400 or 800, the BASIC cartridge as well.)
  • FujiNet
  • micro SD card in slot

You must have completed the Testing Local SD Card Storage test.

Steps:

If you have an Atari 400 or 800, insert the BASIC cartridge.

  1. Power on Fujinet
  2. Power on Atari
  3. Wait until the TNFS HOST LIST and DRIVE SLOTS screen appears
  4. Under TNFS HOST LIST, highlight SD and press RETURN
  5. Highlight Atari DOS and press RETURN
  6. Highlight Atari DOS 2.0s.atr and press RETURN
  7. On the MOUNT TO DRIVE SLOT screen, highlight Slot/Drive 1 ("1 EMPTY") and press RETURN
  8. The bottom of the screen shows "RETURN Read Only W Read/Write". Tap W
  9. Back at the DISK IMAGES screen, tap N to create a new disk
  10. For the name, enter test.atr and press RETURN
  11. Note the SIZE? prompt at the bottom of the screen and tap 1 for a 90K disk and press RETURN
  12. At the ARE YOU SURE (Y/N) prompt, tap Y (case insensitive) and press RETURN
  13. At the MOUNT TO DRIVE SLOT screen, cursor down to slot 2 and press RETURN. Disk is mounted as Read/Write
  14. On a 400/800 system, press OPTION and let go. On an XL/XE series, press and hold OPTION held.
  15. On a 400/800 system, at the READY prompt, type DOS and press RETURN. XL/XE will boot directly into DOS.
  16. At SELECT ITEM/DOS menu, press I, followed by RETURN
  17. At the WHICH DRIVE TO FORMAT? prompt, tap 2 and press RETURN
  18. At the TYPE 'Y' TO FORMAT DISK 2 prompt, tap Y and press RETURN
  19. Back at the SELECT ITEM/DOS menu, tap A and press RETURN
  20. At the DIRECTORY-- prompt, type D2: and press RETURN
  21. This gives you a directory on D2:. Confirm you see a 707 FREE SECTORS message
  22. Back at the SELECT ITEM/DOS menu, tap H and press RETURN
  23. At the DRIVE TO WRITE DOS FILES TO prompt, tap 2 and press RETURN
  24. At the Type 'Y' to write DOS to DRIVE 2 prompt, tap Y and press RETURN
  25. Ensure you see no errors
  26. Back at the SELECT ITEM/DOS menu, tap A then press RETURN
  27. At the DIRECTORY-- prompt, type D2: and press RETURN
  28. Confirm you see the following: DOS.SYS 039 (sectors), DUP.SYS 042 (sectors), 626 FREE SECTORS
  29. On the FujiNet device, press the left-most (drive swap) button, confirmed by two blue LED flashes
  30. Back at the SELECT ITEM/DOS menu, tap M then press RETURN
  31. At the RUN FROM WHAT ADDRESS?? type E477 then press RETURN
  32. This performs a cold start
  33. Confirm that DOS boots. IF you see a READY prompt, type DOS and press RETURN
  34. You should now see a DOS menu on-screen

Your test is complete. Power off the Atari. Power off the FujiNet.

Expected Result:

  • A New 90K disk called TEST.ATR which boots into DOS.
