Connecting to a BBS - FujiNetWIFI/fujinet-firmware GitHub Wiki
For this test, you will need
- Atari Computer
- FujiNet
- Working WiFi Connection
- A host slot set to atari-apps.irata.online
Steps
- Power on FujiNet
- Power on Atari
- Wait for CONFIG to boot.
- Select atari-apps.irata.online
- Select Atari_8-bit folder.
- Select Comms folder.
- Select modem-programs.atr
- Ensure that modem-programs.atr is mounted as R on D1:
- Press OPTION to boot.
- Wait for menu.
- Select 1 for Bobterm from the menu. Wait for BOBTerm to load.
- Once BOBTerm is loaded, Press B to select 2400 baud.
- Press B again to select 4800 baud.
- Press RETURN to enter Terminal Mode.
- Type AT RETURN (keypresses should echo)
- FujiNet should respond OK
- Type ATDT southernamis.ddns.net RETURN
- Fujinet will attempt to connect to Southern Amis BBS.
- Modem should respond with CONNECT 4800, followed by BBS login.
- If the BBS is busy, then try the Basement BBS by typing ATDT basementbbs.ddns.net:9000 RETURN
- If you are logging into Southern Amis, enter your handle and your password. If you are a new user, then enter NEW for your password.
- If you are logging into the Basement BBS, then enter your alias (handle) and your password. If you are a new user, then enter NEW for your alias.
- Once logged in, press ? for a list of BBS commands.
- Try some of these BBS commands.
- When you are ready to log out, press G from the main prompt and following the logout instructions.
- Once logged out, FujiNet should respond with NO CARRIER.
- Test done. Power down Atari.
Expected Result
- WiFi Modem should be able to properly respond and connect/interact to southernamis.ddns.net and basementbbs.ddns.net:9000 BBSs.
