Omnitrax 1050 on the Stockton Terminal & Eastern Railroad. The unit here is undergoing inspections at the STE’s facility in Stockton, shortly after its arrival in 2019. This is now ST&E’s main unit, replacing an ex-RDG SW1200. When 1050 is down, the ST&E calls in its "Lucky 7s" MP15 to deal with trains. Photo Credit: Jeff Black

The SE10B, nowadays known as the NZE10BE (there is no difference between the two), is the Knoxville Locomotive Work’s answer of a light-duty switcher.

Knoxville Locomotive Works is rather well known for rebuilding gensets back to running on one prime mover, and this one is no exception.

These units are currently still up for sale using cores from Gensets or even older units like GP9s, which previously were genset bait. Neat how the oldest units can take on the newest forms, isn’t it?

SFBR 30 is in a very funny place. The San Francisco Belt runs this alongside the ALCO S2 behind it. California may be hellbent on cleanliness, but it’s clear that you can still find the oldest hands operating with the newest hotshots today. Photo Credit: TrainSF Rail Productions
