SD70ACe demonstrator EMDX 1201 stands still with NS 055 at Huntingburg, IN on October 25th, 2012. This locomotive was unique in the batch of demonstrators it was a part of in that it had Caterpillar yellow in place of the standard blue, representing the fact that EMD had been purchased by Progress Rail, who themselves were owned by Caterpillar. It would become Arkansas & Missouri 70 in 2013. Photo credit Casey Thomason (railpictures.net)

Notes
(1) Units built from 2012-onwards use the 16-710G3C-T3 engine.
(2) For those who want a steerable type truck, the HTCR-4 is optional. Side note: NS 1000 has been riding on HTCR-6 trucks for a while (these are typically found underneath the SD70ACe-T4) but it's unclear if it ever became a factory option for the standard SD70ACe.
(3) AC electrical gear is three-phase. Value shown here is for a single phase; the value used by RLC PT2 should be 3 times the value shown. This is done by typing "*3" (without quotes) after the number value when editing the locomotive config in the E2 editor.
(4) Whenever dynamic braking application is made, the engine revs to 370rpm (N2), 490rpm (N3) if under heavy dynamic braking.
