Create introduces a really handy way to relocate and copy structures you've created in-game called Schematics; here's a quick tutorial on how to use them.

Acquiring a Schematic

To create a schematic, you can either make one using part of an in-game world as a template to copy to other locations, or load one in from a file in your instance folder.

  • To make a schematic of an in-game build, you will need a Schematic and Quill which can be crafted using an Empty Schematic and a Feather.
  • To load in a file, place the .nbt file in the /schematics/ directory of the instance you're playing in. A quick way to locate that folder is to build a Schematic Table and use the button with the folder icon to open that in your computer's file explorer.
    • There's an assortment of schematics in the repository here if you'd like to try them out - please feel free to send over new ones for me to test out and potentially add to the collection!
    • The Create Discord server also has a #schematics channel where you can find even more :)

Printing Your Schematic

Once you've either created the file from your world or placed it in the folder, it's time to print it!

  • To load a schematic in from a file (either downloaded or saved from one of your worlds), you will need a Schematic Table
  • Place an Empty Schematic in the table and use the scroll wheel to navigate through the list of files to select the one you want
  • Once you have a Schematic with the design you want, it's time to print it!
    • In Survival Mode you can use the Schematic item to preview where your build will be placed and then a Schematicannon to place it in the world
      • You will need a chest or similar container next to the cannon
    • In Creative Mode you can place a schematic directly in the world; if you like you can also use a Schematicannon to test how a build will work in Survival
      • If you place the schematic directly, you won't need to have any of the blocks in your inventory, it just works!
      • If you use a Schematicannon, a Creative Crate next to the Schematicannon will remove any material requirements
