What components do I need?

The components that are needed for the Freedeck are depending on what variant of the Freedeck you're building.

Freedeck Through Hole Variant (Advised to starters in soldering)

This is the easiest version of the Freedeck to solder. If you want to support our work, buy it in our shop. The things that needs to be soldered on are all modules that are easy to get on various sites, such as Amazon, Ebay or AliExpress. Here is a list of the components that you will need

• PCB or Perfboard
• Arduino Pro Micro (32u4, 16MHz, 5V variant) or Raspberry Pi Pico
• 2x 4051 Multiplexers (From the 74-TTL logic range)
• 6x SSD1306 0.96" OLED (Pin order: GND VCC SCL SDA, very important when you use our PCBs, thx @tedcook94)
• 6x 3x4x2 SMD button
• SPI-SD card reader (Micro-SD form factor)

Freedeck Surface Mount Device Variant (Only advised to advanced solderers)

With the SMD variant of Freedeck you need a bit more soldering skills. Except for the screens everything is directly soldered to the PCB itself and there are no modules on it anymore. The components of this variant can be found inside of the BOM (See the repository)

Gerber file

If you want the PCB made by us, you can download the Gerberfiles here (freedeck-pico) or here (freedeck-micro) or just buy them in our shop to support our work. Just upload the whole zip, do not unpack it!
