Check version from the CLI

1. Log in to the CLI as "admin" (see Logging In for details)

2. Use the "systemInfo" command to view all of the system information settings:

systemInfo

Results in something similar to:

[Page=systemInfo]
   serialNumber=4026711635
   modelCode=0
   radioModel=AMT0100AA
   radioModelCode=0
   radioFirmwareVersion=FWT1071TR.42

   rteVersion=FWT1122TP.16
   rteTemplateVersion=FWT1122TP.16
   licenses=Custom Apps
   themeVersion=FWT1122TB.66

3. Verify the following settings:

Setting Value (1.0.6) Value (1.1.0) Value (1.1.1) Value (1.1.2)
radioFirmwareVersion FWT1040TA.11 (Z9-P/PE only) FWT1071TR.35 (Z9-P/PC/PE only) FWT1071TR.35 (Z9-x only) FWT1071TR.42 (Z9-x only)

If all the settings match, the radio is currently enabled for IQ.

NOTE: If "rteVersion" is blank but other settings match, see Activating IQ.

If any settings do not match, see Troubleshooting firmware version or license issues.

Check version from the Website

1. Using a web browser, navigate to http://<device-ip-address>. The home page shows system information similar to the following:

2. Verify the following settings:

If any settings do not match, see Troubleshooting firmware version or license issues.

Troubleshooting firmware version or license issues

There are a number of different moving parts needed to support IQ functionality. Since radios tend to move around, switch hands, or have firmware upgraded or downgraded, sometimes the firmware versions will not necessarily be what is expected. The following describes each of the key firmware and license settings, and what to do if something doesn't have the expected value.

Radio Firmware Version (radioFirmwareVersion)

This is the firmware that runs on the radio module itself. In general, all radios in a network must have the same radio firmware version to have full compatibility with one another.

NOTE: This setting is only applicable to ZumLink (Z9-x) radio devices. It will be "0" for the ZumIQ Edge Computer.

If the radio firmware version is not the expected value, contact FreeWave Customer Support for assistance.

Device Firmware Version (deviceFirmwareVersion)

The is the base firmware that runs on a device. It contains core FreeWave functionality.

If the device firmware version is not the expected value, contact FreeWave Customer Support for assistance.

Rte Version (rteVersion)

This is the version of the runtime Linux Environment. It is accessed when logging in as "devuser".

NOTE: From the factory, a unit purchased with the IQ feature will have firmware matching the above version numbers (with the exception that Rte Version (rteVersion) will be blank -- see Activating IQ for first-time activation instructions).

If after activation the runtime environment version is not the expected value, contact FreeWave Customer Support for assistance.

Rte Template Version (rteTemplateVersion)

As the name suggests, this it the template of the runtime [Linux Environment]]. It will be copied into the Runtime Environment when IQ is activated for the first time (See [[Activating IQ]], or whenever the Linux environment is reset (see [Resetting the Linux File System).

If the runtime environment template version is not the expected value, contact FreeWave Customer Support for assistance.

Licenses (licenses)

From the factory, a unit purchased with the IQ feature will not have a license key installed and this field will be blank. If you are interested in enabling the IQ functionality, contact FreeWave Customer Support for assistance.

Once licensed, this field will display "Custom Apps".
