Which Version is for You? Rpi01 or Rpi02? - Fredrum/chiaki GitHub Wiki

This is to try and make the choice easy and straightforward for you if it's the first time you use these Rapsberry specific Chiaki versions. Bear in mind you can read more on the individual Wiki pages and even try them both to see what's best for you.
I'm only actively working on and updating the rpi02 branch version.

In the simplest possible terms:

Use RPI01 if you:

  • absolutely need the lowest possible input latency. (I think rpi02 is ~12-16ms higher)
  • want to access more than one Playstation in the launcher GUI.

Use RPI02 if you:

  • want to avoid the legacy rpi decode and display stack.
  • need gamepad navigable gui for say Retropie.
  • want to run on a 64bit OS.
