Web Interface (Not available) - FreddyVRetro/ISA-PicoMEM GitHub Wiki
The Web interface lets you view PicoMEM status, edit its text configuration, and select floppy or CD-ROM images from a browser on your local network.
Enable the Web interface
The Web interface is currently available only for PicoMEM 2 and has not
been published yet. You need development firmware with the Web server
enabled.
For custom firmware builds, PICOMEM_PM_SERVER must be ON.
-
Configure PicoMEM's Wi-Fi connection. Create
wifi.txtin the root of the microSD card, with your network name on the first line and password on the second:YourWiFiName YourWiFiPasswordUse a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
-
Add a
PM_IPline toconfig.txtin the root of the microSD card:PM_IP 192.168.1.50Replace the example address with a free address on your network. Choose one outside your router's DHCP pool, or reserve it on the router. The address must be different from the retro PC's NE2000/mTCP address. PicoMEM uses a static address, not DHCP.
The subnet mask defaults to
255.255.255.0. You can optionally specify a mask and gateway:PM_IP 192.168.1.50 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 -
Insert the card and power-cycle the computer. Allow PicoMEM to connect to Wi-Fi.
To disable the Web interface, remove the PM_IP line and power-cycle.
Connect
Connect your phone, tablet or computer to the same local network, then open the configured address in a browser:
http://192.168.1.50/
Use HTTP, not HTTPS. The browser uses PicoMEM's address, not the retro PC's address. No DOS Web browser or PC network driver is needed to access this interface from another device.
Keep the interface on a trusted local network. It has no login or HTTPS; do not expose it to the Internet through router port forwarding.
Menus
Main config
Shows the firmware build date/time and configured images for FDD0, FDD1, HDD0-HDD3 and CD-ROM.
The Configuration editor (config.txt) lets you edit the text file:
- Reload reads the file from the microSD card again, discarding unsaved text in the editor.
- Save Config writes the edited text to
config.txt. Power off and on to apply the changes.
The editor supports files up to 2048 bytes. It is unavailable while SPI PSRAM is being used to emulate memory.
Audio
Shows the audio master setting, MIDI renderer and audio-device status. The table displays each device's status, base port and IRQ where applicable. Playing means the device is currently marked active by the audio mixer. This page is for viewing status, not changing audio settings.
USB/Devices
Shows connected USB devices and joystick information, including the interface mode and the device assigned to each player. This page is for viewing status.
FDD/CD Images
Select the FDD0, FDD1 or CD-ROM tab:
- FDD0 corresponds to floppy drive A; FDD1 corresponds to floppy drive B.
- Floppy
.imgfiles are stored in theFLOPPYdirectory on the microSD card or a ready USB mass-storage drive. - CD-ROM
.isoand.cuefiles are stored in theCDROMdirectory on the microSD card. The CD-ROM tab is available only in firmware with CD-ROM support; the CD-ROM device must be enabled to mount an image.
Use the page controls to:
- Choose SD card or USB drive for floppy images. The USB option appears when a USB mass-storage drive is ready.
- Click a folder name to open it, or
..to return to its parent. - Use Previous and Next to browse additional entries.
- Click Select beside an image to mount it immediately.
- Click Eject to remove the selected drive's image.
Use short, 13.3 image and folder names. Entries marked Name too long cannot be selected.
Selections apply immediately. Click Save to keep the current
configuration after a restart. This saves the whole current configuration
to PICOMEM.CFG, like the BIOS menu, and displays a success or failure
message.
The two Save buttons are different: Save Config on Main config
edits config.txt; Save on FDD/CD Images saves the current settings to
PICOMEM.CFG.
If the page does not open
- Check that PicoMEM is connected to Wi-Fi and that
wifi.txtcontains the correct credentials. - Check the
PM_IPline and use that exact address withhttp://. - Check that the address is free and on the same subnet as your browser.
- Check that your router does not isolate Wi-Fi clients or guest devices.
- If the server reports that another operation is in progress, wait a moment and retry.
- If pages look incorrect after a firmware update, force-refresh the browser to reload the cached stylesheet.
