Install Apps

First the latest xDrip Nightly must be installed from here

If the latest xDrip+ nightly is installed and the local broadcast has not been activated before, you do this first. In the Inter-App Settings menu, activate the switch for Local Broadcast and xDrip Web Service You also have to tick the boxes for Send the displayed glucose value and Compatible Broadcasts Now Tasker must still be entered as a receiver, unless this has already happened after the xDrip update. To do this, click on Identify Reciever and enter the following. -pay close attention to the spelling of each character, everything must be copied exactly, otherwise Tasker will not get any values, separate the two recipients with a space not with the return key

The local broadcast is now activated and xDrip sends values to Tasker which Tasker can now receive.

Watchmaker-Companion

The Watchmaker Companion must be installed so that the Watchface can be displayed on your Samsung watch. This companion is nothing more than a watchface which is selected after installation and then to synchronize the watch faces. You can easily select it via the watchface overview on your Galaxy Watch -optionally you can also open the Galaxy Wearable app under Watchfaces on your smartphone and select the Watchmaker Watchface here directly.

Wear OS

If you're using a Wear OS by Google smartwatch, do the following.

  • Open the PlayStore on your smartwatch.
  • Tap Apps on my smartphone
  • Search for Watchmaker
  • Tap the download button next to Watchmaker
  • Wait for the installation to finish.

The Watchmaker Watchface can now be added to your current watchfaces in the watchface overview via the button + Add Watchface and then selected. -Optionally you can also open the Wear OS app under Watchfaces on your smartphone and select the Watchmaker Watchface here directly.

Now that all apps have been successfully installed, they must be installed get the necessary calculations for everything from A to B to transport.

All switches must be activated. For the following apps:

  • AutoTools
  • Tasker
  • Watchmaker

Tasker must be activated as an input aid. You can do this in Settings/Accessibility/Installed Services

  • Tasker must be activated here.

Finally, a few settings have to be made in Tasker itself. Open Tasker, the first few times you will be shown tips and hints, click on Stop Reminding or Close to hide them. Go to the settings. (top right the Hamburg menu (3 point menu) then Settings) In the settings you will find 4 categories of settings you can select above. (UI, DISPLAY, ACTION and MISC) Click on ACTION at the bottom you will find the setting ** Maximum number of tasks in the queue ** Please set this to the maximum, i.e. 100 Finally click on MISC, here you activate the function Allow external access Some smartphones cannot otherwise update the values ​​directly from the watchface.

All required apps are now installed and all settings and permissions are also activated.

Import Tasker project

Recently there is the possibility via the Taskernet sharing all of your own projects with others is possible via your Google account. To import the required Tasker project, click here -Link can be also found at the end of the instructions on Page2

After you have clicked on the link, you will be forwarded to the Taskernet, if you open the link for the first time you will be asked for your Google account. Confirm this by selecting your Google account. -You will not be asked for a password anywhere, your Google Account will only be used to access the Taskernet with your smartphone to connect and import the Tasker project Under the description there is a green button Import, you press it, Tasker opens and 2-3 messages appear one after the other which you confirm with Yes, This is to confirm the import and to activate the linked profiles and tasks with immediate effect. Now an xDrip icon appears next to the little house. This is the sign that everything worked and the project was imported correctly.

Click on VARS at the top right to see the variables that Tasker processes within the project. On the right are the values of the variables, in the best case you can see your xDrip values there, here you can see how it looks if everything was well done.

In the worst case, you won't see anything here and a notification from AutoTools will be displayed. AutoTools Parsing error. This means AutoTools is not able to receive the values from xDrip, this is mostly because the local broadcast was not activated or something went wrong. In that case, go back to the beginning and check whether everything has been followed correctly.

Activate AndroidAPS Statusline in xDrip

To activate the status bar, the xDrip status line (clock) must be activated in AndroidAPS in the configuration menu. This is also necessary to display the basal rate and the Wear integration in AndroidAPS must be activated even if no Wear OS smartwatch is used.

Set the target area

From version 1.04 it is possible to determine the target area yourself, this changes the target area of ​​the glucose graph and also the coloring of the glucose value. Normally 80-150 are set here to change this you do the following:

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: The values ​​you enter here MUST be in the mg/dl format. Even if you use mmol/l, you still enter the values ​​here in mg/dl. Watchmaker does the whole conversion if you use mmol/l to display everything correctly.

Open Tasker and check if you are in the right project. At the bottom there is a bar on which you can select your Tasker projects, the small colored bar above shows which is currently selected. The white house on the far left is your basic project. The red drop of blood is the xDrip+ Watchmaker Tasker project which you now select if you haven't already done so. Then press TASKS at the top.

Here are all the variables Watchmaker needs for the graph. The Variables 2. upperBG and 3. lowerBG set the values ​​for your target area.

Click 2. upperBG to edit the value for the upper limit. Change the 150 to a value adapted to your needs. (in mg/dl format) then press the back arrow at the top right

Click 3. lowerBG to edit the value for the lower limit. Change the 80 to a value adapted to your needs (in mg/dl format) then press the back arrow at the top right

At the bottom of each task there is a small play button and a skip button)MyIMG after editing you always press the Play button to send the changes directly to Watchmaker. Then press the back arrow in the top right corner to exit the task. In order to finally save the changes, it appears every time you leave a task the marked confirmation checkmark in the top right. Its important to apply it after you done changes.

Never leave Tasker with the home button on the navigation bar, but always with the back button in the navigation bar. Otherwise, your changes may not be accepted. The easiest way is to press the back button until you are back on the home screen, so you play it safe.
