Pre-Competition Checklist
- Wires on robot and batteries have bolts and nuts tightened and re-wrapped.
- Run through Robot Inspection Checklist
- Driver Station
- Secure Joystick/gamepad controllers to board with strain relief
- Secure the driver station laptop to the board with velcro and strain relief.
- Make Driver account a member in Administrator group
- Remove Login passwords
- Ensure only software on driver station is what's needed for driving
- Install All Windows updates (do this a week before the competition)
- Change “Active Hours” for Windows Updates to prevent updates from installing during competition hours
- Turn off Put the computer to sleep in power plan for both battery and powered operation.
- Turn off USB Selective Suspend
- Pack known good USB and Ethernet cables (for roboRIO connection/programming)
First Morning of Competition:
- Configure radio
- Get robot inspected
- Create table of batteries to use for matches
- Check wire connections on robot including all competition batteries
- Driver Station:
- Turn off Windows firewall.
- Turn off the Wi-Fi adapter.
Between Matches:
- Change and charge battery, check charge state of next matches batteries.
- Prepare and change bumpers
- Driver station plugged in and charging
- Set/Reset Air pressure/release valve
- PWM, CAN, Power connections- check everything plugged in
- Driver station USB connections: joystick and button board
- Modify software and program roboRIO as needed
Preparing to queue
- Correct color bumpers installed
- Fresh battery installed
- Robot pneumatics pressurized
- Game mechanisms set for starting position
- Driver Station:
- Laptop on & driver logged in
- Close programs that aren’t needed during the match
- Laptop charger brought to the field.
- Joysticks and controllers assigned to the correct USB ports?
Things to do if not busy:
- Check universal connectors on xtra motors
- Check charge state of next batteries.
