Using the player

Playing songs

To play a song, either

1. Click on its card in the Song Library in the upper left of the app
2. Load a playlist, and click on a song's card in the Playlist view in the middle of the app

Loading a playlist

To load a playlist, click on its card in the Playlist library in the bottom left of the app

Controlling song playback

By playing a song earlier, you stop the current song and play the new one.

All playback controls are in the lower right corner of the app.

To pause/play the song, you can press space in the app, click the first button in the playback controls list (the one that says Play or Pause), or on MacOS, you can use your system MacOS controls.

To skip back a track, you must be in the first 5 seconds of the song, otherwise it will restart the current song. Press the second button in the playback controls (the one that says <<) or on MacOS, use system controls to skip back. NOTE: this functionality is disabled for songs played from the Song Library.

To skip the current track, press the third button on the playback controls (>>) or on MacOS, use system controls. NOTE: this functionality is disabled for songs played from the Song Library.

To seek back 15 seconds, press the fourth button on the playback controls (<15) or on MacOS, use system controls. NOTE: on Playlist songs, this button will not show up in the MacOS control center and will be replaced by the skip/previous track buttons.

To seek forward 15 seconds, press the last button on the playback controls (15>) or on MacOS, use system controls. NOTE: on Playlist songs, this button will not show up in the MacOS control center and will be replaced by the skip/previous track buttons.

To seek to a specific time, use the slider in-app or on MacOS, use your system controls.

New song

To create a new song, press the "New Song" button to the right of the text "Song Library" in the upper left corner of the app.

You can choose to add songs individually, where you hand it an audio file, image file, and some metadata about the song. You can also add songs in bulk, but the audio and image files must follow certain conventions to properly match and add them. See the in-app information for more.

New playlist

To create a new playlist, press the "New Playlist" button to the right of the text "Playlists" in the middle left of the app. Follow the instructions in the following dialog.

Add song to playlist

To add a song to a playlist, you can either right click its card in the Song Library and select a playlist to add to "Add to playlist" or add it in the Playlist editor.

Edit song

To edit a song, you right click its card in the Song Library and edit its data there.

Edit playlist

To edit a playlist and bring up the playlist editor, you can right click its card in the Playlist library OR open the playlist in the main central view and click the button to the right of the playlist cover image that says "Edit Playlist"

Delete song

To delete a song, right click its card in the Song Library and press "Delete"

To delete a playlist, right click its card in the Playlist library and press "Delete"
