This page explains how to use narrative countdowns
Setting up a narrative countdown
At the end of Foundrys "Journal" pane you can find the Narrative Countdowns button.
Clicking that button opens the Narrative Countdowns window
Using the "Add Countdown" button you can add a new countdown:
Then you can set the name for the new countdown, the current and maximum value for the countdown, and the type
For the countdown type you have these options:
- Spotlight
- Character Attack
- Custom
Which will be explained below. You can also set a custom icon for the image by clicking on it, and the permissions for the countdown (player visibility) by clicking on the icon with the 3 people. You can also delete any countdown by clicking on the trashcan icon.
You can also use the Toggle Simple View button in the window titlebar to switch to a more simple view, which is especially useful when having multiple countdowns active.
Countdown Types
Spotlight
The countdown automatically decreases on spotlight change.
Character Attack
The countdown automatically decreases whenever an AttackAction
is successfully used.
Custom
The countdown only change when left- or right-clicking on it.
Using the Narrative Countdown
In the simple view, left-clicking a countdown will lower the current value, and right-clicking it will increase the value.
