Difficulties/Problems

The major difficulty or problem I faced is how I did not set a wordlist of John the Ripper. This made the password cracking take days (I had to restart with an actual wordlist). I am glad I was told that that way was the wrong way since I would have waited days for something which wouldn't have worked.

Other than that difficultly, there was little to no issue with the lab.

Favorite Part:

The best part of this lab was the hacking part. Even though I was waiting, it was fun to think that this process is similar to how the professionals would do it. Though, they surely would have more grace than me.

Opinion on Password Generators and Managers

I can clearly see the use of them. These passwords are only reversable because they were found in the RockYou.txt password list. If passwords generators and managers create completely custom, complex, and long passwords, then it seems like it would take a couple hundred years to crack. Though this all depends on how secure those password managers are.
