Setup

For the attacker box we will be using a Kali Linux VM in Virtualbox. Navigate to this website and download Kali linux: Kali Linux - Downloads

Select the VM image option and select the edition for Virtual Box. Unzip the downloaded file. If you select "Add" on the Virtualbox console and select the unzipped file .vbox file, it should build the machine for you. If you navigate to the extracted file folder and open the kali-linux-2023.4-virtualbox-amd64.vbox file it should generate the new VM. Select the option to start the new machine to begin setup. You'll be presented with a login screen. Per the documentation, the pre-built virtual box machine will have the default credentials of "kali" for both username and password.
