Besides the software there is also the physical robot. In our case the youbot. This page will give a brief turn on / turn off description for it. For more details see the youbot wiki.

Power source:

The youbot has two options for a power source; external (via cable) or a battery (not both). When using the external connection plug the cable of the adapter into the 24 volt port:

When using a battery slide it into the left side of the youbot. Then connect the cable to the battery connector:

Turn on

To turn the robot on we can use the button located beside the LCD display.

Press the button shortly to turn the display on.

We can now turn the hardware (LiDAR sensors, wheel motors) on. Do this by pressing and holding the button until the screen says motor on. Then release the button.

The robot is now ready for use.

Turn off

You can turn off the robot by reversing the above described procedure. First turn off the robot hardware. Do this by pressing and holding the button until the screen says motor off.

Now turn off the LCD by pressing and holding the button until the screen says switch off.

You can now unplug the power cord or battery.
