Guide Updates - FlimFlam69/WiiUTutorial GitHub Wiki
The most recent updates are closer to the top of the page.
-
To better adhere to subreddit guidelines and policies regarding piracy, I have removed the Brazilian Title Install Method from the wiki. This has been replaced by a guide that outlines how to use disc2app, which is a great and easy tool to convert your physical Wii U games into digital titles.
-
"Your guide is super hard to follow." ~ That one guy from /r/piracy
-
The latest versions of Haxchi and Coldboot Haxchi both have built-in CFW functions. If you're not using redNAND, you should be using these functions instead of Mocha CFW.
-
If you get an error code in the WUP Installer MOD when HaxchiFW has been applied and you're trying to install a Virtual Console title, an eShop title, DLC, or an out-of-region title, then you're doing something incorrectly. This is a problem that has popped up more than a few times and I wanted to address it here. The only thing I can say is to double check all of your work and run through everything again.
-
If you have a question - please ask on the /r/WiiUHacks Q&A thread. Issues/ tickets should only be made if you have a correction to be made in the guide.
-
Dimok's new Mocha CFW has been implemented into the guide.
-
I know about Dimok's Mocha CFW. I'm trying to figure out the best way to implement it into the guide. Keep checking back here.
-
Added a section on Coldboothax. Please read all of the brick warnings and be careful.
-
Added vWii stuff to the Starter Pack Setup section. That should make things a bit easier.
-
A coldboothax installer was released and I'm a little hesitant to write a guide about it. If the Wii U updates while coldboothax is on, then the Wii U might brick.
-
The F.A.Q. and the And Other Various Things... section will be included on the /r/WiiUHacks wiki, which means they won't be updated here much longer. The guide's focus is to get you from a clean 5.5.1 Wii U to a console booting IOSUhax, so we can install whatever we want. Other topics will be included in the wiki from now on.
-
As per suggestion, I've added an extra section on making your own Starter Pack. This should prevent users from accidentally using outdated software.
-
It's been a long time coming, but I've finally written a vWii guide. Everything from installing the Homebrew Channel to installing a patched IOS80 has been outlined.
-
The IP address for DNS-U changed so make sure you've tweeked your Wii U internet connection settings with this new information.
-
Instead of running IOSUhax CFW, we're going to be running Dimok's Simple Signature Check Patcher from now on. Also, I've updated the starter pack to include all the tools used throughout the guide. If you read it, I emphasize using the starter pack more. This makes the process way faster, as in, if you have used the starter pack - you can skip steps. I'm going through the guide now for any glaring inconsistencies, but nothing else will majorly change. I'm hoping to work in the official HBL title at some point.
