Summary

Setting up the environment was fairly simple as I have gained enough practice over the last semester. Setting up the firewall can still be nerve-racking though as screwing up the wan with the upstream can be worrisome. When setting the WAN remember to set the WAN address as the custom address provided by the instructor the upstream is it's own prompt. Also for network adapters, make sure there are two with one being the WAN and the other LAN. Setting up the other machines was pretty simple and using AD as a no GUI machine is a pretty interesting approach. One issue I did have when creating the mgmt machine was the last deliverable. When searching for the PTR records on my machine, they wouldn't show up. Even reading the records wouldn't change anything. If the solution is found it will be added here: Get-DnsServerResourceRecord -ZoneName 5.0.10.in-addr.arpa -ComputerName ad01-eric -RRtype PTR

• Always cable the machines before use by setting the network adapter to LAN
• Remember sconfig whenever you want to configure any settings within the ad01 machine
• Remember to change the DNS of a machine to the domain machines IP in order to join the domain
• Go to the all servers tab to add servers to the list
