2. Handbrake - FendtXerion3800/Fanatec-Pinout GitHub Wiki

Basic Information

Connector found on:

  • DD1
  • DD2
  • CSL DD
  • CSL Elite
  • Clubsport USB Adapter

Not available on:

Required pins:

  • 1 - GND
  • 5 - Analog Signal (0V - +5V)
  • 6 - +5V

Optional Pins (Required for Clubsport USB adapter):

  • 2 - Short to GND

I could confirm that GND on Pin 2 is not needed for the DD1 or CSL DD Wheelbase. But as Shambler2 found out it is needed for the Clubsport USB adapter to recognice the analog input as a handbrake.

The minimal and maximal value of the analog handbrake signal has to be calibrated after every start of the Wheelbase. This is done pulling the Handbrake to the max. The values are mapped automaticly. There is a minimal voltage of 0.4 V required in the lowest position of the brake, or else the wheelbase will reset the calibration every time the voltage drops below this point.

Example circuit diagram

Potentiometer

The solition with a Potentiometer is similar to Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V1.5. Reference: Fanatec ClubSport Handbrake V1.5 - Quick Guide

Load Cell and Op-Amp

For this variant I used a 20kg Loadcell and a INA-333 OpAmp with an amplification of 1000. In my case there is a minimal physical load on the loadcell from a spring which causes a minimal voltage obove +0.5V on pin 5 and no reset of the calibration. I still have to find a way to raise the voltage obove the threshold if the rest force is around 0N.
