CSMWrap Compatibility List
This page aims to be a community-driven list of hardware, software, and firmware that have issues with CSMWrap.
Please Contributing by opening an issue or pull request with your findings.
How to Contribute
When reporting compatibility, please try to include:
- CSMWrap Version: (e.g., Git commit hash or release version; if unspecified, assume latest as of June 1, 2025)
- System Type: (Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, VM)
- Motherboard/System Manufacturer & Model:
- CPU:
- GPU: (Crucial for VBIOS/display issues)
- UEFI Firmware Version:
- Key UEFI Settings:
- Secure Boot (Status)
- Above 4G Decoding / Resizable BAR (Status)
- Native CSM (Status)
- Legacy Operating System Tested: (e.g., FreeDOS 1.3, Windows XP SP3 32-bit, etc.)
- Result:
- Works with Issues: Boots/installs, but has specific problems (e.g., minor display glitches, USB boot fails, etc.). Describe issues.
- Partially Works: Boots to a certain point but fails to complete OS installation or full boot. Describe where it fails.
- Does Not Work: Fails to boot CSMWrap, or legacy OS boot fails immediately. Describe symptoms.
- Notes: Any additional observations, workarounds used, or specific configurations.
