DirectX 8 error

This error is often caused by the fact that the main GPU doesn't support the selected Anti Aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering settings. Usually this happens because an older generation of integrated graphics from Intel or AMD has been selected instead of the dedicated GPU.

If you have a dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU that definitely supports Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering, please make sure this GPU is actually utilized when loading Freelancer: HD Edition. Visit these links to see how to do this:
