Description

Several types of environmental sensors in the water or near water are responsible for gathering observational data later used in FLARE water quality forecasts and other analytics.
Here is the list of current sensors:

Sensor Name Location Description
YSI EXO2 FCR-Catwalk Instrument that has modular sensors connected to it.
YSI EXO2 BVR-Platform Instrument that has modular sensors connected to it.
EXO Optical DO Sensor FCR-Catwalk Sensor uses light to measure dissolved oxygen. This is attached to the EXO2
EXO Turbidity Sensor FCR-Catwalk Sensor uses light to measure turbidity or how cloudy the water is. This is attached to the EXO2
EXO Total Algae-PC Sensor FCR-Catwalk Sensor uses light to measure how much algae is in the water. This is attached to the EXO2
EXO fDOM Sensor FCR-Catwalk Sensor uses light to measure the amount of organic matter in the water. This is attached to the EXO2
EXO2 Central Wiper Sensor FCR-Catwalk A wiper brush to automatically clean the sensors. This is attached to the EXO2
EXO Wiped Cond/Temp Sensor FCR-Catwalk Sensor that measures temperature and conductivity or the electrical conductance in the water. This is attached to the EXO2
NexSens T-Node Thermistors FCR-Catwalk Sensors deployed every meter to measure temperature at different depths
NexSens T-Node Thermistors BVR-Platform Sensors deployed every meter to measure temperature at different depths
RDO PRO-X Dissolved Oxygen Sensors FCR-Catwalk Sensor uses light to measure the amount of oxygen in the water. These sensors are deployed at the bottom and middle of the water column
