Diversity Statement

The Operon team aims to design software that respects users with different backgrounds, abilities, language proficiency, and levels of technical experience.

Area Design Consideration
Usability Use clear language, consistent navigation, and helpful error messages to support users with varying technical experience.
Accessibility Aim for readable text, sufficient colour contrast, keyboard navigation, and status indicators that do not rely on colour alone.
Language and background Avoid unnecessary jargon and assumptions about names, communication styles, or business practices. Make language limitations clear.
AI bias Evaluate outputs using varied examples, check for unsupported assumptions, and allow reviewers to correct or reject drafts.
Team participation Encourage respectful discussion, shared knowledge, and meaningful contributions from all team members.

Human review remains central to Operon. AI-generated information should be checked against source evidence rather than accepted based on assumptions about a person or business. These considerations should be reviewed throughout development and user testing.
