Managing Cloud Cover and Totality with PAUSE RESUME - Eyeke2/phd2.planetary GitHub Wiki

Encountering cloud cover or totality phases can disrupt the continuous detection of the Sun or other celestial bodies. To mitigate this, PHD2 offers a strategic feature:

PAUSE/RESUME Button: Instead of stopping and restarting the guiding process, use the PAUSE button to temporarily halt guiding. This action preserves the current lock position on the solar body. When conditions improve, hitting RESUME will allow PHD2 to automatically realign the celestial body back to the center of the field of view.

Preserving Lock Position: It's important to note that if you stop guiding using the standard stop button in PHD2, the previously locked position will not be saved. Using the PAUSE feature ensures continuity in your session without losing the alignment you've worked to establish.
