To create a Windows recovery disk, start by opening the control panel. Press the Windows key, type "Control Panel", and press the Enter key.
Click "Save backup copies of your files with File History".
Click "Recovery".
Click "Create a recovery drive".
You will be asked to allow the "Recovery Media Creator" app to make changes. This is required in order to write to the recovery drive. Click "Yes".
Check "Back up system files to the recovery drive" and click "Next" to start creating the recovery image.
The app will start creating the recovery image.
Select the drive to use as the recovery drive and click "Next".
Confirm the recovery drive and click "Create".
The app will start writing to the recovery drive.
The recovery drive is now ready. Click "Finish".
To recover the system, reboot and enter the boot menu by pressing F12.
Select the recovery boot device. In this example, it's the USB drive.
Select the language.
Select the keyboard layout.
Select "Troubleshoot".
Select "Recover from a drive".
Select "Fully clean the drive".
The recovery process will then get ready.
Click "Recover" to start the recovery process.
The recovery process will reboot the system.
The recovery process will then start.
As part of the recovery process, all encryption keys will be erased from the TPM. Press F9.
The system will restart and then install Windows.
When Windows installation is complete, the Windows setup will be presented.
