Description

The celestial.grid package contains functions for making a grid of points on the celestial sphere

Functions

• celestial.grid.tile_the_sky - tile the celestial sphere with overlapping box-shape tiles
• celestial.grid.make_healpix_grid - make a grid of HEALPix positions covering the whole sky with equal area pixels close to rectangular shape
• celestial.grid.get_healpix_numbers - get the healpix pixel numbers (indices) for a given sky position and map resolution
• celestial.grid.statSkyGrid - calculate statistics of a gridded value for a given sky position within a given distance (radius) in the sky
