Accessing SEATool - Enterprise-CMCS/macpro-mako GitHub Wiki

Setting up account

  1. Reach out to Brian and he will get you access
  2. On chrome the SEATool website registers as the same as your EUA for the password manager.

⚠️ DO NOT SAVE PASSWORD ON CHROME ⚠️

It will overwrite your EUA password and then you might get locked out of your EUA account.

Resetting password

⚠️ PLEASE DON'T LOSE YOUR PASSWORD ⚠️

You will have to reach out to Brian again to reset your password, as the “reset Password” link does not work.

SEATool Dev vs. SEATool Val

As you might guess, SEATool Dev is the dev environment for SEATool and the data there is what is used for feature branches as well as mako-dev. Similarly SEATool Val is the val environment and that is the data used with mako-val. Likely you will only get access to SEATool Dev: https://seadev.cms.gov/, but if you have VAL access beware emails will be sent out to real CMS users so proceed with caution.

Viewing a Package

Once you are able to log into SEATool you can search and create a new package. Let’s go through the process of viewing a package:

  1. When you login you will be directed to the home tab, so navigate to SEA Add/Edit
  1. You may search with any of the parameters, although most likely you will use the package id like I have here:
  1. To view click on the magnifying glass, to edit click on the pencil and paper and it’s that easy!

WARNING: when editing, if you click on a field you don’t need and trigger the form validation there is no way to clear it without restarting the form. So proceed with patience.

Creating a New Package

Review of the Process

Before we get started remember the usual process is create new package in OneMACcreate new package in SEATool The other way around is a NOSO.

I made this simplified drawing of the correct order of package creation:

Steps to Create New Package

  1. So if you are working through the normal workflow, create your package on OneMAC first. (NOSO work skip this step)

  2. Navigate to SEATool of your environment, and click on SEA add/Edit just as you did above.

  3. Then scroll to the bottom and click: “Add New”

  1. Fill out the first 4 input boxes with matching information that you have on the OneMAC system. Here is an example:

Then Click “Confirm, Save, and Proceed to Next Step”

  1. It is hard to tell which fields are required, so a quick trick is to scroll to the bottom and hit save and everything that turns red is what you need to fill out.

NOTE: If you are on val use Brian Francis or Padma Boggarapu as CPOC so a CMS user won’t get the tests emails.

  1. Once you are good to go, you can save and you should be all set.

  2. Go back over to OneMAC and verify your package was updated.
