Wiimote Lightgun with normal IR sensorbar - EmuELEC/EmuELEC GitHub Wiki
If you don't own a Dolphin Bar, you can now connect and use your wiimote with a normal IR sensorbar (or even candle light) in retroarch.
Here are the necessary steps:
-
Boot up EmuELEC 4.8
-
Go directly to EMUELEC SETTINGS --> GAMEPAD CONFIG --> CONNECT WIIMOTE(S)
-
Put your Wiimote in pairing mode and press OK, the system will scan for the Wiimote. HOLD the buttons. If the LEDs stop blinking while scanning, hold them again until the wiimote is found. This can take multiple tries, be patient. In the end, a window will pop up: Wiimote successfully connected. Press okay. Do not configure the Wiimote with the controller configuration inside ES.
-
Assign P2'S CONTROLLER in "CONTROLLER AND BLUETOOTH SETTINGS" to NINTENDO WII REMOTE
-
Power on your sensor bar (must be situated on top on your TV) or light the candle
-
Go to EMUELEC SETTINGS --> GAMEPAD CONFIG --> ACTIVATE WIIMOTE WITH IR SENSORBAR. If it is activated, it will create a background process that is creates a virtual mouse called "Wiimote IR"
Using the wiimote as a lightgun in retroarch (Example: BATTLE CLASH for SNES)
-
Start the game. If you have assigned your Wiimote in the ES menu, Retroarch will recognize it (in port 2, for example)
-
Go into the retroarch menu --> QUICK MENU --> CORE OPTIONS. Enable "Show Light Gun Settings"
-
Go to INPUT --> RetroPad Binds --> Port 2 Controls. Device index will show "Nintendo Wii Remote", Mouse Index must be "Wiimote IR"
-
Go into QUICK MENU --> CONTROLS. Choose Port 2 Controls (if you have the Wiimote set as P2 controller before in ES)
-
Change "DEVICE TYPE" to "Super Scope"
-
Resume game. There will now be a crosshair on screen and your Wiimote will act as a light gun.
-
Happy shooting!
