About EVNotify

What is EVNotify?

EVNotify allows you to monitor several data of your electric vehicle, even when the car itself doesn't have the possibility for it by default. Furthermore it allows you track your drives and charges. EVNotify also gives you the possibility to be notified, when your desired state of charge has been achieved or the charge interrupted for some reason.

What was the idea and motivation behind EVNotify?

Originally the idea behind of EVNotify came when I've read that the Hyundai IONIQ Electric, the car that I wanted to buy, does not come with a possibility to remotely see the current state of charge. In Europe, the Hyundai IONIQ comes with no BlueLink integration. Because I'm a software developer, I just decided to create an app - to make this possible. I ordered my own Hyundai IONIQ - but even before I received it, I started to develop the application. I invited several people which wanted to test it. After a long time, I made the breakthrough. Finally, it was possible to read out the state of charge. From that moment I decided to make the application available not only for me - I enhanced it with new features and introduced EVNotify in the goingelectric forum. Furthermore I decided to make EVNotify free and Open Source - so everyone can contribute and enhance EVNotify to make it even better.

What are the benefits of using EVNotify?

As I mentioned before, EVNotify gives you the possibility to track the state of charge and several data of your electric vehicle (even when it's not supported by your car by default). Currently, EVNotify already brings you the possibility to connect multiple devices together - so you can see the data in real-time with any other devices and also from your browser. And as if that weren't enough - EVNotify also comes with multiple notification possibilities. So you can set your state of charge - and you just simply get notified when the preset state of charge had been achieved. And you have the choice - Classic Mail notification? Telegram Notification? It's up to you! EVNotify also has some cool features in Telegram - with an own bot. There is so much to explore - and the best thing about it - there will be very cool new updates in the feature!

A small note

EVNotify is my own project I started in my free time. Since I do this only in my free-time, some bugfixes or updates can take some time. Developing is hard and time-consuming. But I love working on projects - and love making some app which is useful for so many people. I'm planning to support more Electric Vehicles in the future. Currently I'm paying all incurring costs by my own - developing EVNotify has already cost me more than thousand euro - and it's still raising (Domain costs, server costs, license costs, hardware costs) - quite apart from the time developing took me. But EVNotify is and will stay free for everyone - there will be no exclusive features only for paying members.
