BR16 – General Indicator Dashboard
This business rule specifies the functionality, structure, and content displayed in the consolidated dashboard for phytosociological analyses.
Mock data shown in prototypes is illustrative only and must not be interpreted as real analytical values.

Implementation Details
1. Access Requirements
The General Dashboard becomes available only when the selected analysis contains:
- Registered specimen data
- Completed phytosociological calculations
(density, frequency, diversity indexes, basal area, volume)
2. Dashboard Sections
The dashboard consists of three main display panels:
2.1. Phytosociological Parameters Panel
- Displays phytosociological parameters per species for the selected analysis.
- Shown through a bar chart containing, for each species:
- DA (ind/ha) – Absolute Density
- DR (%) – Relative Density
- FA (%) – Absolute Frequency
- The top of the panel also displays:
- Total number of species detected in the analysis
2.2. Collector’s Curve Panel
- Contains a line chart with two curves:
- Observed curve: accumulated number of species
- Trend curve: smoothed projection
- X-axis: cumulative sampled area (m²), calculated as the sum of plot areas in sampling order.
- Y-axis: Accumulated number of species
2.3. Analysis Metadata Panel
Displays the registration data of the selected analysis:
- Name of the analysis
- Latitude
- Longitude
- Start date
- Description
(Observations may be displayed depending on data availability.)
2.4. Analysis Indicators Panel
The panel lists the key phytosociological indicators computed for the analysis:
- Número de indivíduos
- Número de espécies
- Número de parcelas
- Área de parcelas
- Densidade (ind/ha)
- Área basal (m²/ha)
- Volume (m³/ha)
- Volume de reposição (m³)
- Área amostrada (ha)
- Índice de Shannon (H’)
- Índice de Simpson (D)
- Índice de Equitabilidade de Pielou (J’)
All values are computed from the actual dataset of the analysis.
Values shown in prototypes are placeholders only.
3. Data Updates
- The dashboard updates automatically and in real-time whenever:
- Specimen-level data is inserted, edited, or removed
- Plot metadata changes
- Phytosociological metrics are reprocessed
4. Interactivity
- Indicators and graphs may support drill-down interactions.
- Hovering over charts must display value tooltips.

Notes — Indicator Definitions and Calculation Formulas
This section lists all formulas, required data inputs, and definitions for the indicators displayed in the Analysis Indicators Panel.
1. Número de indivíduos
Total count of all recorded specimens in the analysis. N = soma de todos os indivíduos registrados
2. Número de espécies
Total number of unique species observed. S = quantidade de espécies distintas registradas
3. Número de parcelas
Number of sampling plots used in the phytosociological survey. P = total de parcelas da análise
4. Área de parcelas (m²)
Total area covered by all plots. Área_parcelas = soma(área_individual_de_cada_parcela)
5. Densidade Geral (ind/ha)
Density of individuals per hectare. Densidade = N / Área_amostrada_ha
6. Área basal_ha (m²/ha)
Sum of individual basal areas per hectare.
Basal area of each specimen:
If CAP1..CAP6 are provided: ABI(cm²) = Σ (CAP_i² / (4π)) para i = 1..6 G(m²) = ABI / 10,000
Area basal per hectare:
Área_basal(ha) = Σ G(m²) / Área_amostrada_ha
7. Volume (m³/ha)
Total tree volume standardized per hectare. Volume_total = Σ (G(m²) × Altura) Volume(ha) = Volume_total / Área_amostrada_ha
8. Volume de reposição (m³)
Volume used for restoration or planting programs. Volume_reposição = Volume_total (valor agregado, não dividido por ha)
9. Área amostrada (ha)
Total sampled area in hectares. Área_amostrada_ha = Área_parcelas / 10,000
10. Índice de Shannon (H’)
Diversity index sensitive to species richness and evenness. H' = - Σ (p_i × ln(p_i)) p_i = n_i / N
11. Índice de Simpson (D)
Dominance index; lower values indicate higher diversity. D = Σ (p_i²)
12. Índice de Equitabilidade de Pielou (J’)
Measures how evenly individuals are distributed among species. J' = H' / ln(S)
DA – Densidade Absoluta por Espécie (ind/ha)
Represents the density of each species within the sampled area.
DA_i = n_i / Área_amostrada_ha
Where:
- n_i = number of individuals of species i
- Área_amostrada_ha = total sampled area in hectares
DR – Densidade Relativa por Espécie (%)
Represents the proportion of individuals of species i relative to the total community.
DR_i = (n_i / N) × 100
Where:
- n_i = number of individuals of species i
- N = total number of individuals in the analysis
FA – Frequência Absoluta por Espécie (%)
Represents in how many plots the species occurs.
FA_i = (p_i / P) × 100
Where:
- p_i = number of plots where species i occurs
- P = total number of plots sampled
Legend (Summary)
- N = total number of individuals
- S = total number of species

- Altura = tree height (m)
- Área_parcelas = total sampled area (m²)
