meeting note ‐ May 18th 2026 - ESCOMP/mizuRoute GitHub Wiki

Discussion topic:

mizuRoute Governance

Attendees:

Andy Wood, Martyn Clark, David Lawrence, Erik Kluzek, Sean Swenson, Naoki Mizukami

Brief summary:

Talked about the idea of splitting mizuRoute github repository between standalone, which resides in some github space, and coupler interface parts (i.e., coupler interface) would be other github spaces. But it appears that everyone is open to either way - keeping as is or splitting, and where core mizuRoute resides for now. Overhead of splitting the github needs to be aware of.

Next step:

Revise the documentations including github page front and readthedoc documentation to avoid the user getting the impression that mizuRoute is only for ESM use. Making clear that mizuRoute is a multi-application community model, and outlining what to expect if someone wants to make a contribution to it (ie a process of suggesting an augmentation, some contacts who could discuss and ultimately review it, and help strategize the proposed changes). Maybe also a list of current development activities underway.

Identify mizuRoute users and developers and all get together in one meeting and learn who is doing what, and identify what issues/difficulties are, and discuss the path forwards.

Start regular quarterly meetings to share works related to mizuRoute and discuss progress and issues
