We had initially been looking at using the RaspberryPi as a compute / camera platform because of its low cost, but they have become extremely hard to come by since the pandemic.
The current plan is to use Sharpcap on MicrosoftWindows and PlanetarySystemStacker.
Data Pipeline
For sharing data, FITS is the standard Astronomy format. Our archival format should use that, and we should concentrate on capturing appropriate metadata within it (??).
We should probably work on ways to make kstars more approachable, as it is feature-rich. It already provides a mechanism for taking photos in FITS format, allows scripting, and controls equipment using INDI.
