So for example if you search "metallic" it will list all buildings that can be made from metallic stuff

Mint Wheel

Mint menus also adds a tool called the mint wheel, it is simply a radial list of designators which appears around your mouse for quick access to commonly used designators, you can set which mouse button opens the wheel in the mod settings which can be also be accessed via the cog in any mint menu.

To assign designators to the mint wheel you must open the mint build menu (ctrl+click architect menu) and then you can ctrl click any designators to add them to the wheel, the total amount added is shown at the top of the build menu.

These designators are rendered using the vanilla code so modded and patched designators should still work.
