Supernaturals

The Supernatural Mod draws inspiration from a wide variety of shows such as Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Teen Wolf, The Witcher, The Originals, Legacies, and The Order. Each supernatural entity in the mod offers unique mechanics and traits, blending together the most exciting aspects of these universes.

Vampire

Summary / Overview: Vampires are heavily inspired by The Vampire Diaries universe (TVDU), known for their immortality and inability to age. In the mod, vampires cannot have children but can offer their blood to others, who may either die and rise as a vampire or resist. Vampire blood grants improved health and a lifestyle XP boost. The “turn into vampire” option mimics dying with vampire blood in your system, just like in TVDU. Vampires focus on intrigue and prowess, with a lifestyle perk tree dedicated to enhancing these attributes.

Becoming A Vampire

In Supernatural, you can either start out your game using the Ruler Designer and assigning yourself the Vampire trait, or let the world of the supernatural enter your playthrough. There are a variety of opportunities to become a Vampire in Supernatural during the game, from being turned by another Vampire to even events, that should you choose the right options, will result in you becoming a creature of the night.

Being Turned: If you did not start your game as a Vampire, then you will be able to request a Vampire turn you, but there will be some things you must do first. The process of creating a new Vampire consists of drinking the blood of a Vampire (Note: You can only request a Vampire's Blood should you know the secret that they are one, not just seeing the vampire trait!), then the next step has two paths, the first one being for you to essentially 'die'. However, due to the current coding abilities by the developer, it has to be a natural death which means not by murder or combat but rather illness! The second path, which is the easiest, is to request that the same Vampire who gave you their blood 'Turn You' which we'll pretend they do the 'kill you' part and then you will become a Vampire.

By Events: If you aren't lucky enough to come across a Vampire in your travels, or unlucky enough, then there will be the opportunity that an event will trigger (which there are multiple of) and should you choose the correct options, it could result in your transformation into a Vampire.

Werewolf

Summary / Overview: Werewolves are creatures of loyalty and power, drawing their inspiration primarily from Teen Wolf. With a strong focus on combat and family loyalty, their Lifestyle Perk Tree (Lycanthropy) increases their effectiveness in battle and improves relations within their dynasty. While not focusing on breeding the werewolf gene, werewolves in this mod can bite others to spread their infection. This makes them formidable both in and out of battle.

Becoming A Werewolf

In Supernatural, you can either start out your game using the Ruler Designer and assigning yourself the Werewolf trait, or let the world of the supernatural enter your playthrough. There will be various events that can pop-up offering you the opportunity to become a creature of the night, and make friends with others.

Being Turned: If you did not start your game as a Werewolf, then you will be able to request a Werewolf bite you and turn you into a beast. As of v2.15, you must know the secret that someone is a Werewolf before you will see the option

Hybrid

Summary / Overview: Hybrids combine the traits of both vampires and werewolves but are considered an abomination by other supernatural beings. Inspired by The Vampire Diaries' hybrid lore, they result from a werewolf being turned into a vampire. Hybrids are fertile and able to pass down werewolf genes to their children, diverging slightly from TVDU where hybrids couldn't reproduce. They have access to both Vampirism and Lycanthropy perk trees, with watered-down versions of each to maintain balance, but they remain a powerful force in gameplay.

Becoming A Hybrid

In Supernatural, you can either start out your game using the Ruler Designer and assigning yourself the Hybrid trait, or let the world of the supernatural enter your playthrough. The Hybrid is a unique Supernatural that currently does not have any way of becoming one through events in the world, however, a Hybrid can be created by turning a Werewolf. Unfortunately, if you are a Vampire, you will be unable to become a Hybrid.

Witch

Summary / Overview: Witches bring the mystical world of magic into the mod, using a Magic lifestyle with three unique perk trees: Arcane, Black Magic, and Witchcraft. Borrowed from the Witchcraft mod with permission, these perk trees cover a broad range of magical abilities. Witches can summon demons, steal life, curse others, or even perform more traditional spells like child-eating. Each witch can only choose one final trait—Mage, Warlock, or True Witch—preventing them from becoming overly powerful by locking out other magic paths.

Becoming A Witch

In Supernatural, you can either start out your game using the Ruler Designer and assigning yourself the Witch trait, or let the world of the supernatural enter your playthrough. Witch is currently a trait in the Vanilla game of Crusader Kings III, so the mod Supernatural only adds additional ways to become a practitioner of magic.

Hunter

Summary / Overview: Hunters in the mod are inspired by classic stories like the Salem Witch Trials, Hansel and Gretel, and The Witcher, as well as Supernatural. Hunters have two main paths: Witch Hunting and Monster Hunting. With unique perks focused on combating supernatural entities, hunters can eventually unlock the titles of “The Witcher” or “Witch Hunter.” Future updates will introduce the option to create Hunter Orders, allowing hunters to organize and fight against supernatural threats on a larger scale.

Becoming A Hunter

In Supernatural, you can either start out your game using the Ruler Designer and assigning yourself the Hunter trait, or let the world of the supernatural enter your playthrough. There will be various events that can pop-up offering you the opportunity to become a protector of the common folk, and make some coin while you're at it.
