Lab 4‐3 Simple 2‐Network Packet Tracer Lab - Dleifnesor/NET-150 GitHub Wiki

in this lab we built a network consisting of 2 LANS conjoined by a common router, one having a server and the other one having a common endpoint device. we observed the role of a router in a network as it can localize and segment different networks.

commands used: ping

the pinging of the server did not work at first, but only because i forgot to turn on the router ports and the server (ALWAYS LOOK FOR DISABLED PORTS/ DEVICES IN PACKET TRACERRRR!!!)

useful info: if a device in packet tracer is turned off and on, the interface data will be lost unless the NVRAM is saved before, as this will preserve the port IP data (and maybe the mac table?)

simulation mode is useful as it lets you view every step a packet takes in its journey.

how to save configuration data on routers: save NVRAM!!
