As-Is process of a restaurant

Description

The current customer flow in a restaurant usually follow a standardized procedure.

Start: Guest(s) Enter Restaurant

Task: Welcome Guests

Guests are welcomed to the restaurant

Decision: Free Table/ Reservation

If no table is available, the guests are sent away. If a table is free or a reservation has been made in advance, the guests get seated in the following step.

Task: Seat Guests

The guests are guided to their table (or asked to chose a table for themselves where they would like to sit)

Task: Take Order

After a brief moment (for the guests to decide from the menu), the order is taken by a waiter.

Task: Serve drinks

The drinks will be served as soon as possible

Task: Prepare Meal

The meal will be prepared according to the guests order. This takes quite a while.

Task: Serve Meal

As soon as the kitchen indicates that they are done preparing the meals, they will get served.

Task: Present Bill

The bill will be presented as the customer finished the meal and is ready to pay and leave

Task: Make Payment

The guest pays the bill

End: Guest Leaves
