Axes is an skill that adds various abilities to make fighting with an axe more effective. Most passive abilities focus on buffing the default Armour Shred ability, whilst the others are more damage output based abilities.

XP Gain

Experience is gained through hitting mobs or players with an axe. Based off server configuration, different axe materials can give different bonuses to the exp gained by hitting a mob, with a gold axe giving the most (1.5* exp) by default.

Default Ability

Shred

This ability is usable by everyone regardless of player's level. By default this should max out at the highest axes level; 1000. This ability will have a chance of dealing 1 damage to a random piece of armour when attacking a player. This ability is great for tanks who need to quickly break down opponents armor either for teammates to finish off or to allow the player themselves to stand a better chance.

Passive Unlocked Abilities

Heavy Strike

Heavy Strike is an ability that will increase the activation chance of Shred. This ability will speed up battles, allowing players with high tiers to demolish opponents armor, giving them or their team a better advantage in terms of gear.

Blood Frenzy

Blood Frenzy will give the player a few seconds of Haste and Regeneration when they kill a player with an axe, allowing the player to be more of a threat for a short while in team fights and giving Axes users the role of DPS/last hitter. This ability is a snowball type ability as well, meant to encourage use of axes as a killing weapon as opposed to just Shredding.

Sharper Axe

Sharper Axe will increase the range of damage that Shred can deal to armour. In order to give the ability a worthwhile feel when it comes to upgrading, there had to be an increase to damage every level. If it was +1 damage per tier, then a Tier V ability would do 6 armour damage a hit which is incredibly strong. As such, the better approach is to offer an upgrading range to offer a bit of randomness and lower the overall upper bound that would be required for this ability to work.

Active Unlocked Abilities

Whirlwind Strike

Whirlwind Strike is an ability that can be activated by attacking an entity after readying. However, in order to use the abilities, your offhand must be empty in order to 'swing' the axe with two hands. This ability will deal minor damage to all nearby enemies and send them flying.

Ares Blessing

Ares Blessing is an active ability that is activated by attacking an opponent after readying. Activating it will give a short buff of strength and resistance for a while, but after the buffs end, the player will get a long debuff of weakness and mining fatigue.

Crippling Blow

Crippling Blow is an ability that is activated by hitting a target after readying. For a short bit, any entity struck by your axe will gain slowness and nausea. This ability has great chemistry with Shred and Heavy Strike, allowing you to slow down your target and deal further armor damage before they can escape.
